Jasmine Griffin, Ann Mosely Whitsett, Caroline Lawrence, and Lainey Phelps all gained some invaluable experience competing against some of best in the nation at the New Balance Indoor Track and Field Nationals at the New York Armory. Lainey Phelps and Ann Mosely Whitsett competed first on Friday in the Emerging Elite 800m. Both ran extremely well and were just off of their personals bests. Phelps won her heat and was 2nd overall with a 2:13.71, and Whitsett was 7th in her heat and 24th overall with a 2:17.80. Caroline Lawrence competed in the Championship Division in High Jump and finished 13th in the nation with a jump of 5 feet 5 inches and had great attempts at her personal best of 5 feet 7 inches. Jasmine Griffin made it to the finals in the Championship 60 meters with a huge personal best of 7.50, and she ended up finishing 9th in the nation. All four girls participated in the Championship 4x400m on Sunday and ran a personal best of 3:53.41 to finish 13th in the nation.

AHSAA rules prohibit school involvement since it is an indoor meet during the outdoor season, so this trip would not have been possible without community support.
