Patriots News · Pats beat Ramsay 9-3, sweep area

At Altamont, the 6th ranked Patriots (24-8) beat Ramsay 9-3 to go 6-0 in area play.  Once again, the Pats jumped on top in the first when Josh Hall walked to lead off the game, stole second and scored on a 2 strike single by Ben Teel.  In the third, Michael Kash led off with a walk, stole second, advanced to third on a Hall single, and scored on a wild pitch.  Hall stole second and third, and Teel followed with a two run bomb to left as the Pats took a 4-0 lead.  Homewood gave one back in the bottom of the inning, but scored four more in the fifth and a lone run in the sixth to get to nine.  Teel finished 3-5 with 3 rbis, a homer and a double.  Hall was 2-3 with 4 stolen bases, and Jake Miller added two hits on the night.  Miller also threw two scoreless innings on the hill to finish the game for Hunter Keim who left with cramps in the sixth.  Keim won his fifth game of the year, going 5 innings, giving up 3 runs, one earned on 3 hits, 4 walks and 2 ks.

Homewood will not travel to Alex City Saturday due to the threat of storms.  Instead, the Patriots go to Pelham tomorrow night at 6 and wrap up the regular season at Chelsea Monday.
