There will be a “Celebrate Jody Day” at Homewood Middle School on Saturday, November 17th from 8:00 am until 10:30 am. The celebration is in honor of Jody Atchison, known to her students as Mrs. A, taught at Homewood Middle School from 1969 until 1998. During her years there she taught physical education and health. She started girls athletics and coached basketball, softball, volleyball and track. She also served some time as cheerleader sponsor and formed her beloved GAC’s.
This celebration is to raise money for research for Creutzfeldt-Jakobs Disease, the disease that took her life last March.
We would love to see everyone; Homewood Alumni, former students and players, parents, co-workers, family and friends. We will have a reunion walk from the new Homewood Middle School to the original school site. We will have refreshment, a time to reminisce and celebrate Mrs. A, as well as, a short video of her life. There will also be an inflatable for the children.
Donations will be taken at registration beginning at 8:00 am. Please join us to honor the memory of Mrs. A and raise funds for research for this fatal disease.
