Girls Junior Varsity Soccer · JV Girls Soccer Knocks Out Six Wins in Six Days!


JV Girls Soccer had a huge week posting six wins in six days!
On Monday, the Patriots hosted Briarwood. Homewood recorded a 6-0 shut out. Eleanor Kyle scored two goals. Emma Blackmon, Sarah Parker Lowery, Juliet Mayhall, and Mary Ellen Petrella also each placed one in the back of the net.

The Lady Patriots then traveled to Mountain Brook. After a tough battle, Homewood emerged with a 2-1 win over the Spartans. Kyle scored off a ball from Rika Kellen. Blackmon added a goal with an assist from Kyle.

On Friday, the JV Girls headed to Oxford to play in the Golden Cup Invitational Tournament. The Patriots headed to the championship game after defeating Gadsden City 5-0, Sylacauga 8-0, and Westbrook Christian 10-0. After winning the final match 9-0 over Glencoe, the Homewood JV Girls Soccer Team was named the Golden Cup Invitational Champions!

The Patriots scored 32 times in the tournament and allowed zero goals to enter their goal. Goalkeeper Katie Crim was named the tournament MVP.
Kyle led the offensive attack with a total of 12 goals in the tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team. In addition nine players added to the tally to total the 32 goals: Kellen (5), Laine Owen (3), Allison Kachelhofer (2), Lizzy Peeples (2), Anna Harbin (2), Mayhall (2), Petrella (2), Anna Catherine Carr (1), and Jackie Bald (1).
