Patriots News · Pats swept by Hartselle

At Hartselle, the Pats finished the season 18-12 with a 7-2 loss in game one and a 3-0 loss in game two.

In game one, Homewood took an early lead in the 2nd on an rbi single by Owen Isenhower but gave 2 back in the bottom of the 2nd.  Homewood tied it in the top of the 3rd on a bases loaded hbp to Brian Condon, but the Tigers again answered with a run of their own.  Hartselle added a run in the 5th to make it 4-2 and then 3 more in the 6th to extend it to 7-2.  The Pats left the bases loaded in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Will Heisler (5-2) took the loss on the mound in 4 innings of work.

Game two was a pitcher’s duel with Charlie Teel taking a no hitter into the 6th while Elliot Bray of the Tigers was working on his own one hitter.  Hartselle was able to get to Teel for 2 runs in the 6th and added another in the 7th to seal the deal for Bray.  Teel struck out 7 while giving up 3 hits in the nightcap.

A big shout out to our seven seniors who helped lead the Pats through a tough area and into the sweet sixteen for the 8th straight year.
