Homewood (3-4) finished the weekend with a loss to Buckhorn in the quarterfinals of the silver bracket of the Juanita Boddie. The lady patriots fought hard in pool play, falling to Spain Park, Sparkman, and Cullman, with two of the three matches going to a third set. Homewood found their groove in the first round of the silver bracket and defeated John Carroll in two sets. Next, Homewood continued the win streak with a victory over Houston Academy in two. Homewood would then end the weekend with a loss to Buckhorn. Olivia Brown led the Lady Patriots with 51 kills, 47 digs, 2 aces and 3 blocks on the weekend. Mackenzie Yoakum added 20 kills, 17 digs, and two blocks. Haley Callaham led the defense with 47 digs, six assists, and one ace. Sarah Smith added 45 digs, nine assists, five aces, and one kill. Olivia Outman tallied 83 assists, six digs, four kills, and three blocks. Abby Wilson chipped in 53 assists, 22 digs, four kills, and three aces. Homewood will host a home trimatch on Tuesday against Jacksonville and Corner.
