Pats sweep Saturday

At historic Rickwood field, Homewood put together a Saturday sweep defeating  Fairview 11-3 and 9th ranked Chelsea 3-0.  In game one versus Fairview, the Pats jumped up with a 5 run first and 2 runs in the second.  Homewood added 4 in the fifth to close out the scoring.  Luke Hindman improved to 2-0 on

At Gardendale, the Patriots jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 2 and a half innings, but couldn’t hold on, dropping an 8-7 decision to the Rockets.  Homewood scored 2 in the 1st on an rbi single by Austin Spiers and a rbi groundout by Luke Hindman.  The Patriots added 3 more in the 3rd

At John Carroll, the Patriots improved to 7-6, winning their 3rd in a row, beating the Cavs 8-0.  John Marc Mullins picked up his 3rd win of the year on the hill working 5 shutout innings of 3 hit ball with 7ks.  Jacob Fitts pitched the final 2 innings, striking out 1 on 1 hit.

At Homewood, the Patriots lost 2-1 to Clay.  John Marc Mullins took the tough luck loss on the mound, working 6 innings of 2 run ball on 5 hits with 6 ks.  Both runs were unearned.  The Patriot offense had 3 hits on the evening.  Homewood (4-6) hosts Pinson Valley in a double header tomorrow.

At Homewood, the Patriots lost a 5-2 decision to Springville.  In spite of Luke Hindman’s 2 solo homers and a magnificent outing on the hill by Michael McClung, the Patriots gave up 5 unearned runs and allowed a freshman pitcher to once again stymie the offense.  McClung went the distance for the Pats giving up
